Updated my webcam page to correct a very minor error, and to add a notice that Camera 2 is under maintenance until further notice due to some technical issues. Hopefully this will not be for too long. Will report back on these issues in a future entry in latest news. Also made some updates to my home, about us and climate pages.

Updated my webcam and "how it's done" pages - both of my webcams are now up and running. The new Stardot took much more effort than expected to commission, but I'm now at the point where I'm pretty happy with the settings. This camera also has a more extensive overlay (caption) with a lot more info thereon. Enjoy.....

My new Stardot Netcam SC has arrived! It will take me a few weeks to get it installed and commissioned in the spot formerly occupied by my old Creative webcam, however a temporary image is already live on my webcam page. (Note that until fully commissioned this image is subject to interruption and alteration). There is also a picture of the Netcam itself on my How it's done page.

Updated my webcam 'how it's done' page with some information on my new camera 2 setup. This page will need to be updated again once my new camera 1 arrives!

Made some changes to my webcam archiving such that from now on both webcams will be archived. Note that my original camera, now "_cam1" in the archives, is inactive pending delivery and installation of my new Stardot Netcam SC.

Completely revamped my my plants pages. The old system of adding a new page for each year's plantings was just becoming too messy, so I have replaced it with a selection of pages depicting the various parts of my garden. As you may know abuse of my guestbook facility has been a problem for me over the last few months. Tonight I have upgraded my guestbook to the latest version, this incorporates some protection against abuse of this facility. Guestbook entries will once again appear immediately. I will be monitoring the guestbook for the foreseeable future but will not make any more changes unless absolutely necessary.... sign it here!

My ISP has let me down badly by losing all of the data on their CGI server. For me this only affects my guestbook, others I'm sure have lost more. I had a backup of my guestbook database, but it was 4 months old :-( so I have lost all entries made since about mid-Dec. If you signed my guestbook since then could you possibly sign it again? Thanks and apologies for this.... G

Abandoned frames. Site appears amost identical and navigation is unchanged, however visitors arriving at pages other than the index page (via a search engine) should now always see the menu to the left. Also some other minor updates.

Some minor plant-related updates. I have also joined the Palm Centre's affiliate programme, which means that some of my pages now bear their banners... now personally I hate advertising banners, so I have tried to keep them as small and unobtrusive as possible, therefore they shouldn't slow down the loading of my pages, nor should they make viewing my site an unpleasant experience :-) Of course if you're reading the pages in question then you're probably already interested in palms & exotics, and if you live in the UK or many other countries then you may even appreciate a link to a supplier of these plants. I have used the PC many times and would recommend them on that basis, so I'm not plugging something without basing it on my own experience!
