Every Girl's Rally (EGR)

Every Girl's Rally is a church based youth organisation which started in New Zealand but has several branches in Northern Ireland.

I, Fiona, am a leader in the Seaview Sparrows section which is held in Castle High School, Belfast, on Wednesday evenings.

There are 3 age groups - Sparrows (4-7yrs), Juniors (7-11yrs) and Seniors (11-16yrs).

In Sparrows we have an hour and a half and in that time we have inspection, singing, prayer, badgework, games, craft, story, and a memory verse.

There is a team of leaders with each group and we plan and organise each evening's events as well as parent's nights and displays.

We also take the girls for outings to adventure playgrounds and an open farm.

All of our activities are centred around giving the children a good knowledge of the Lord Jesus so that they can learn more about Him and take it back to their families at home.

Many of the children already belong to a Sunday School but not all do. For these children EGR may be their only contact with the Gospel. As Leaders we try to lead by example in all that we do and although EGR is not as formal as school we try to keep a balance between structure and having fun!
